Yummy start to a lazy weekend?

Last night, we had dinner with the Wassermans; close friends, parents of Jacobs best friend Jonah and owners of Rouge.
SAMPAN, Michael Shulsons new place...same owner as IZYKAYA in the Borgata, was the place and WOW, it was awesome!  
 One of the benefits of dining with restaurateurs is that they all seem to know each other and by the same token, try to outdo each other.  Well last night was no different and from the moment we say down, we were showered with house delicacies that only those on the inside get to experience.  The food, while extremely delicious and somewhat spicey, was also appropriately portioned and perfectly prepared.  I'm pretty sure we tried everything on the menu but the standouts for me would have to be the Pork Bahn Mi, King Crab Rice Cracker and Crispy Brussel Sprouts.  Lets not forget the dessert that topped off the cornucopia of flavors.  I highly recommend it but make sure that you make reservations; we were there on a Friday night, they were not participating in restaurant week and we still had to wait for our table.  
Needless to say it was worth the wait and we will be back...soon!  Great job chef.
